I want to go to ivey, mostly because I want to do business not computer programming which you is alot of work and very tough to graduate after you get in. Western is better because it is less competitive when you get in. Waterloo academic workload is crazy when you get it, most ppl dont even graduate.

I prefer some type of engineering over BMOS, because it is so hard to find a job with a pure business background.

Typically they are really bright and well rounded etc. In no way does this represent all of the people that will be accepted, more like 30-40% of them. What was your average to get into schulich? I heard from some that it was sky-high at 93 cut off, then there is others who says schulich is desperate for ppl and will take high 80's. Did you get accepted to schulich today? My average is sitting at a 94.8, and I have pretty solid EC's, and so far I haven't heard of anyone getting in with below a 91%. Bieber wrote:what would qualify as 'decent ec's' and what would be 'amazing ec's'? people keep saying you can get in with a high 80 with amazing ecs.. what kind of stuff is that? personally what did you write about for your 3 essays? My EC's were: 1) Part-time work and volunteering at the YMCA: I held a leadership position for a competitive swim club there and also work closely with a lot of different individuals - from children, to adults, to people with physical and mental disabilities. For my volunteer work, I trained kids for the swimming portion of a charitable Strong Kids triathlon. I also volunteered in another fundraiser called the Megathon, in which I timed swimmers as well as participated by swimming 5K. 2) Member and Occasional leader of my church's Youth Group. Organize fundraisers, leader religious meetings, participate in things like Soup Kitchen, Elderly care, and feeding the homeless. I also run a Children's Liturgy every sunday where I teach kids about the gospel and such. I also visited Italy and Spain for World Youth Day. 3) Senior swimmer for both my school and my swim club. Competed provincially, travelled to quebec, manitoba, Saskatchewan etc. Assisted coach during practice, placed 2nd and 3rd at regional school meets, etc. The reason I would consider these good EC's is because Ivey is looking for diversity. Yeah you could compete in DECA or be the exec of a club, but they wan't people that aren't only business minded (if that makes sense, considering it is HBA haha). I have experience with my community, I hold leadership positions, but I am also an athlete and philanthropist (to an extent ha). Summary: I think it's more than just competing or making money. Although, I'm pretty stoked getting a Schulich offer. I'm also not at 91% so I'm hoping there's no such cut off for first round Ivey AEO. Applied to: - Western BMOS [Accepted] +(AEO) [Accepted] - Queen's Commerce - Schulich iBBA [Accepted] - Rotman Commerce

Aren't there like 500 kids each year in HBA?
That would mean Ivey sends out tonnes of offers.

Who else is applying?
So few things we could start with...
- Ivey vs. Other Business Programs (Queens, Schulich, Laurier, etc). - Ranking - Best business school in Canada? Place in top 3? - Options, opportunities and job prospects. - Questions regarding marks, EC's and application forms. - Scholarships, fees and residence. - 2 + 2 system.
It's that time of the year... discuss! -Check out this article that compares Ivey to Queen's. -Check out this article for best business schools in Canada -If you're interested in how to get into ivey, check this out.-If you're interested in how to get into queens, check this out.hope these help.
