im learning drums, ive been playing woodwinds for the past 10 years (clarinet, oboe, flute, tinwhistles, recorders, bassoon, saxophone and etc). ive been screaming for the past 4 years. i used to be able to sing classically, but screaming kinda messed that up xD its brutal but it was worth it and i love screaming more than singing.. im saving up for a good mic and im probably going to do some vocals for bands this summer!

I WANT TO START A BAND IN UNI SO BAD.

if its over 3 people, its not trolling :P and a year of practice is enough to get a firm grasp of the skill. im a mezzo-soprano, so its hard for me to growl like Corpsegrinder but im good with mids and highs. especially highs :P
and if youre serious about the band thing, im down. :D

It's hard to find decent people to make a band with, so I don't see why not :)

I have 2 years of guitar experience! I can play Rhythm parts really well, if you haven't seen my latest guitar video here it is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1nNGJCoOkk

I also have some original material already completed.

I play in Drop C and D standard, I can always alter tuning's to accommodate your vocals!

What kind of role would you want to take in the band?

you play REALLY well. but, im not a fan of most -core bands... i do not enjoy their screams, most of the lyrics bug me, and most of the riffing is kinda boring. :P BUT i do like some All That Remains, Protest the Hero, and The Black Dahlia Murder :) (and i liked that song you played in your vid lol) one thing that i LOVE with hardcore/deathcore is the breakdowns.

id want to start a band that cant be put in a single genre. (example: Bodom)

i tried recording some screams with my crapty webcam mic, but it turned out awful.. but i got a camera and the mic on it is not too bad so ill be posting a vid soon :)

ive been composing since the age of 8.. and i can write lyrics too :) im a classically trained musician so i can work with harmonies and transposing from one key to another and all that stuff :P

my role in the band? well, id love to scream, sing a little bit if it has to be done, write music, write lyrics, manage finances, and book shows! (i have connections in the folk/black/death metal scene downtown.)

Thank you!

BTW, A sound I wanna go for ideally would be a mixture between Symphonic Blackened and Melodic Death Metal, I would like some breakdowns on occasion just to make it brutal :P

BTW tell me what you think of this band:

BTW, are you cool with having keys/synth in the band? I want like Classical type elements LOL

OMG METALHEADS ON HERE AND GOING TO WATERLOO !!!! :D (totally fangirling over here)

hopefully ill get in for math/CS... REALLY want to manage bands or work for a record label when im older :P (because i cant major in screaming at uni LOL)

but i can say that waterloo has a decent deathcore/hardcore scene (ive seen it for myself) and toronto is amazing for folk/black/death/thrash metal

probably going to be the ONLY white female metalhead in math... lol

Don't worry, you will get in! I'm thinking of starting a band in uni, so u can manage my band! lols. What are your top 5 favourite bands OF ALL TIME?

I'm going to probably start saving up money for a professional amp system and start a Melodic Metal/Deathcore band in University \m/

BTW, what are you planning on doing in the band?

I can kinda do vocals Haha, but I'm mostly for guitar :P

im learning drums, ive been playing woodwinds for the past 10 years (clarinet, oboe, flute, tinwhistles, recorders, bassoon, saxophone and etc). ive been screaming for the past 4 years. i used to be able to sing classically, but screaming kinda messed that up xD its brutal but it was worth it and i love screaming more than singing.. im saving up for a good mic and im probably going to do some vocals for bands this summer!

I WANT TO START A BAND IN UNI SO BAD.

Great! We should totally hang out in Waterloo and start a band! lols. I've been doing growls and screams for about a year now, think im doing pretty well from the comments some of my friends are making, but they could be trolling me... lol

Ugh, my vocals have like zero endurance and high screams are difficult LOL, but my lows are okay :P

I wish you applied to UTSC, We'd totally start a band :P

right now, i live in markham. id come down to toronto every week/2 weeks, so we could work something out?

Thank you!

YES KEYS <3 i can play piano/keys somewhat.. im not the best though

i enjoy some elements of the song.. its not what i normally listen to and its DEFINITELY not black metal xD i does have some BM elements in it though.

a lot of people at my school like nu-metal, -core, and hard rock (A7X) lol, metalheads are an endangered species! i do go to a MINUSCULE francophone high school though..

that was a REALLY good song. enjoyed it. lacks that raw feeling in the recording from the 1st wave of BM, but musically it was great

try this song. screwing AMAZING riffing and its symphonic/ambient as it gets. its the song that actually got me into BM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgQRRI9goFg
