So, just got an email from Western saying: Dear Raymond: I am writing to let you know that your application to Western continues to be under full consideration and will be reviewed once again in May. Admissions decisions in May will be based on your average which will be calculated on six Grade 12 U and/or M level courses including English (ENG4U) and the prerequisites for the program to which you have applied. An email notification will be sent between May 14 and May 29 to the address you have specified on your OUAC application. The email will advise you to check your Western Student Center online for more information about the status of your application. I had a 90.3% average at the end of semester 1, so it should not have been a problem with my marks (and I also had English first semester). My guess is that it's because I already accepted Mac lol. Did any one else get a letter/email like this?

I just received the identical email and nearly had a stroke. My top 6 was 91.2%, including english and the other pre-requisites (my school isn't semestered and I did 4U/M credits last year too so my OUAC currently has 9 4U/M credits). I don't understand how this is possible... Ozinator, are you saying you got an acceptance email today? **Shields** Accepted: University of Toronto: Social Sciences + Vic One (Pearson Stream) Carleton University: Honours Science University of British Columbia: Arts

Ozinator, are you saying you got an acceptance email today? Egads! Guys I just got the same email a few minutes ago in my inbox. I'm astonished and confuzzled. I have an 85% avg, 5 completed courses and one course that has a midterm. Are you guys sure it's really a refusal letter? I don't think it's possible to refuse anyone at this time. Only offers of acceptance are given out. It's a bit early. :S

It's not a refusal, it's a "we've looked at you, didn't pick you, but we might get back to you in may so don't lose your OUAC password" **Shields** Accepted: University of Toronto: Social Sciences + Vic One (Pearson Stream) Carleton University: Honours Science University of British Columbia: Arts

People who've gotten these emails, what do your last names start with? Maybe they are doing it alphabetically that way and just emailing the people they haven't gotten to yet with that same email (she says hopefully). REALLY regretting not applying to general science at western now... **Shields** Accepted: University of Toronto: Social Sciences + Vic One (Pearson Stream) Carleton University: Honours Science University of British Columbia: Arts

Also, they have accepted people with 86%, yet some of us with 90+ have yet to hear back. Very, very displeased with Western atm... **Shields** Accepted: University of Toronto: Social Sciences + Vic One (Pearson Stream) Carleton University: Honours Science University of British Columbia: Arts

When Guelph gave me an alternate offer with 92.1% average , I said somewhere in this forum that Western's cut off may go up this year as traditionnaly Guelph cut off is about 1-2% lower than Western.
Yes, I got the same e mail too and I have 4 of their pre req's plus I had 3 completed AP subjects and that is still not good enough for now....

@aquarius many people have posted on these forums that they have been accepted to Western BioMed with marks as low as 86%, so I can't imagine that that's the case. **Shields** Accepted: University of Toronto: Social Sciences + Vic One (Pearson Stream) Carleton University: Honours Science University of British Columbia: Arts

Calm down everyone. You still have yet to be looked upon and to receive either an offer of acceptance or a refusal. :)

Very, very displeased with Western atm... There is a possibility that there could have been more applicants this year with very high average. I go to a non semestered school and my 2nd terms marks are not up yet on OUAC and I have a 92.1. My first term mark was 87(and that was in Dec) which obviously is not enough for Western or Guelph for now. I think they could be choosing people randomly due to high demand for their Biomed program OR if you had taken the time to send in the supplementary application then maybe those are the ones they want to take in first because of the effort they had put in ; shows you are really serious about going there!! Also what is weird atleast for me is Ottawa doubling my scholarship offer which means they have seen already seen my 2nd term marks and yet Western and Guelph hasn't seen them ! I think there is lot more to this whole admission process than we really know!!

I think there is lot more to this whole admission process than we really know!! I was more than willing to do the supplementary application however, every source I referred to said that Western only accepted that application if your marks were lower than their website specified. I was told that it would be completely disregarded, had I filled out that form, because it is simply if, for example, you have an 84-85 and are aiming for BioMed, believing that the merit from your extra curriculars will make up for not having the required grades. I was under the impression that having a 90% was more than enough to not be concerned, and it's definitely higher than the required "mid to high 80's" on the website. I have the suspicion that they are accepting students who applied to multiple programs before those who applied to only one. I only applied to one but I'm fairly certain that this might be the determining pattern. I might call the admissions office, but I'm weighing the pros and cons of that still. **Shields** Accepted: University of Toronto: Social Sciences + Vic One (Pearson Stream) Carleton University: Honours Science University of British Columbia: Arts
