Just thought this would be an interesting topic to talk about. I've had teachers that would often go off topic during class and tell random stories about themselves. What's the most interesting or funniest story you've ever heard?
I'll start. I've had this really mean and bitter teacher that never gave good marks. He said himself that he hated people in general. First I had him for civics and then again for history. What luck eh? Out of all the teachers every year I was put in his class every time. I hated this guy ever since the first day, he always shouts for no reason and is really unreasonable for the tinniest things.
Now in grade 11, I had him again well this time it wasn't chance, he was the only one that thought economics. (Really wanted to take the course) Anyways during class he would often relate the concepts to the world and current events. But one day it some how turned into the story of his life. So it turns out he is in his fifties and never got married. He had a few girlfriends actually when he was young but some how they all died. LOL seriously, every time he meets someone really great things are going well and then she just drops dead with an incurable and terminal disease. Now he's just a bitter old man that's going to died alone someday. <- exactly what he said...
SO what else is out there? xP

The one thing I remember he said that cracked me up was that when he saw his aunt in the coffin he was happy. And he was talking about how dumb Jersey Shore is and said "Can you imagine how big Snooki will be when she's 40?" LOL That's a little sad what happened to your teacher though. I can't imagine having 1 significant other die, but to have all of them die, and now he is forever alone? Can't help but feel sorry for him. Applying to:

Can't help but feel sorry for him. Yea it is kind of a sad story. It turns out he couldn't each his economics class this second semester because of scheduling problems, and almost everybody dropped out of the class because they just wanted to have him. He is still mean to niners and tenners but treats seniors a little better because he says we're now a little more 'mature'. He still has a lot of hated around the school but once you really get to know him, (i.e had him for three years) he is a pretty good teacher in the end.

Aww that's nice that you guys gave him a chance and he doesn't have that reputation of being a forever alone type of guy. Applying to:

Great story Kev. Good to know things finally worked out with you and your teacher. There's been times when my teachers have shared their life stories....(shared the most pointless stuff ever, if you ask me) i had an english teacher last semester who shared his so called "tips and tricks" on how to make fake ids for clubs and finding a chick a year older than him, who he is happily married to currently. One of my favourite business teacher's from last semester made fun of jersey shore (similar comments to brady's teacher) and the best teacher is my nutrition and science teacher. She talks about her baby and her husband, loving her for breast feeding them. whats more funny is the reaction the guys have. there expression are priceless. heheh Co-op Management University of Toronto Class of 2016

I had the same teacher for both Gr.12 Chem and Physics. He explained to us that in his spare time he does taxidermy. He has been doing this hobby for so long that he in fact has a barn full of taxidermied animals. He told us, and I quote, "if you ever have a chance to visit my barn, don't feed the animals. They're already stuffed." University of Guelph: Biomedical Engineering

My math teacher (who has a Master's in Physics), was talking to us about math, and I don't know how we got on the topic, but someone asked something like, "How do you deal with theoretical physicists?" And our teacher said, "You don't." And went on a long winded (yet pretty amusing) story about how he was an experimental physicist, and his roommate was a theoretical physicist, and the roommate was kind of like Sheldon form the Big Bang Theory. And then we started to draw parallels from his life to Big Bang Theory. Anyways, most off-topic thing ever, but I think it was the funniset thing! We have a substitute teacher come in that not many people like, including myself. One day however i did put up with him. We had one "gangster" kid come into class and was being annoying with this beat boxing. He told the kid that his beats were horrible, so they had a beat boxing competition in class. After this he sang for us because apparently he was in a school choir as a kid and has to prove it to us. Most awkward but most entertaining class of the year. **Shields** Accepted: University of Toronto: Social Sciences + Vic One (Pearson Stream) Carleton University: Honours Science University of British Columbia: Arts

My music teacher loves metal and sometimes goes on tangents about it in class. He once spent literally an entire half-hour talking about how "Smells Like Teen Spirit" contributed to the end of hair metal.

I got one: My calculus class in first semester is around mostly full of Asians that took Principles math 12 the year before. Someone makes a comment like "this class is like 99% Asian", and naturally the teacher corrects her, since at least 3.5 students in a class of less than 30 are Caucasian... She then proceeds to talk about her sister who competes in 100m sprints and how her sister tends to compete against mostly Black people, and that her sister is an honourary black person due to her "black booty" because that's what helps her be a good sprinter. Aaand now we're all honourary Asians in calculus! woo And then there's my socials 10 teacher who was mainly the drama teacher.. So he was all over the place ALL THE TIME. So much so I can't remember a good story off the top of my head... But there were a lot of discussions about movies. University of British Columbia, General Science - ACCEPTED!, admitted March 24
