Hey, I'm in 2nd year (Rotman Commerce) living in residence (University College). Ask me about anything, college choice, academics, partying, life...
Look forward to your questions! (I'm really bored right now)

I recently got admitted to U of T + Woodsworth, even though Trin was my first choice. My average was only in the high 80's (which is low for Trin) so I'm going to assume that's why Trin didn't give me an offer. However, as of now my average looks like it'll be around 91-92 after midterm, which gives me a better chance at Trin. Would Trin reconsider my application after midterm? :) Waterloo Mechanical Engineering '17 Applied: McGill :) :( :( :( Western :) Ivey :( U of T :) :) Waterloo :) :) :)

^ I doubt it, but I'm not completely sure. Why don't you try calling the Registrar's Office at Trin? Their number is (416) 978-2687. You can email them too, at registrar@trinity.utoronto.ca but calling would probably be a faster way to find out. Perpetually hungry.

Do you think it's possible for me to be accepted to Victoria or University College with an 84-85% average?

I was accepted yesterday with an average somewhere between 84 and 88 (I honestly don't know what it was...), so I'd say as long as your essays were decent, definitely!

I hope they'll reconsider me because my average looks like it'll shoot up about 5-6% after midterms, and Trinity is one of the biggest reasons why I even considered U of T :/ Waterloo Mechanical Engineering '17 Applied: McGill :) :( :( :( Western :) Ivey :( U of T :) :) Waterloo :) :) :)

Trin will not reconsider your application unless you send e-mails to both WW registrar and trin registrar, and get permission from both for the residence office to even consider it. Try calling! Vic will only accept you if you ranked them 1st on your list and the essay is good. Most people have closer to 88+ there.

What do you hear about the Scarborough Campus or about students from Scarborough? Anything about the social life over there? And are there any parties on campus residences?

Hi! If I end up at U of T, I'll be in Trinity College. It seems like a really cool place to live, but I have heard some things about a lot of the students there being pretentious (not meaning to offend anyone with this, I've just heard it being said). I know that there are pretentious people and lovely people everywhere... but from what you've seen, is this accurate? And do you know anything about the quality of food at the Trinity cafeterias? Thank you!

Thank you! Can give you a personal perspective here! I go to Trinity College, and was worried about this element too when I first applied to U of T and was choosing between colleges. Does this contingent of people exist? Yes, but it is not at all a majority and yes you will find that group no matter which college you go to. Trin is awesome, and no matter what your interests and priorities are you'll find people in Trin that you'll really get along with. The quality of food at Trinity has not been great...oh, the many times I have ordered delivery with friends because we were just sick of it. That being said, you are lucky because Trinity's Strachan Hall (main dining hall) is doing a major renovation this summer, and re-opening in September. They have promised much better food next year, and this year started introducing some new food choices which have been very good. So its going to improve a lot next year! Trin food this year (on the rare occasion I've eaten there) has been way better than the past couple years, lol. personalized sandwich stations and stuff, whaaat? some of it is still not great, but other colleges (New, UC etc.) have comparable food. I am planning to take summer school in UofT this summer and was thinking of staying in University College. However, they are now out of single rooms for the whole summer and only have double rooms available. I was told that I must find my own roommate to sign up for a double room with and I was wondering if there is any facebook group/forum for UC students or even UofT students for me to look for a roommate? Thanks a lot! (I'm looking for a female roommate btw :))

I'm planning to have a meal plan once I start attending UofT but I'm having a hard time understanding the process. Do you pay a certain amount of money and eat all you want or do they actually add up your expenses once you purchase your food? I take anxiety and iron pills therefore, I'm only allowed to eat twice a day or sometimes once a day depending on how busy I am. So overall, I'm not really eating that much so I thought, if I did use their meal plans (which I really do want to), it would be a waste of money because I don't eat so much.

Some are all-you-can-eat, and some are declining balance (which would suit you much better) Look into University College's meal plan in the Howard Ferguson Dining Hall http://www.uc.utoronto.ca/content/view/119/173/

Thank you! Trin is awesome, food is better than decent as well. The people are great. Colleges are very divided if you live on campus, the stories you hear of trin kids are never from trin kids themselves, it's just what non-trin kids think of them (huge/false stereotype). it's just funny cause they have cloaks. Very nice. commerce + vic, great choices The three commerce classes (math+management+econ) are full year classes. The two electives, you can either take two per semester, or two for a full year. If you're taking all five classes, it will be tough to keep a job. It's easy as long as you do the work, especially in economics. study like crazy before tests. The residences are very nice at vic, just make sure to choose an older style one, you'll have mucho more fun!
