I'm really trying my best for CalArts in California but any school is Canada for the time being? I hear Sherdian is good but that's all. Anyone else pursuing animation? whether 2D of 3D? I can't be the only one T.T I also wanna hear your thoughts about animation =) #1 Goal : Calarts!

SHERIDAN! I don't know if you guys saw this but on Global news last night at 11 they were showing students work from Sheridan and people/business from the animation industry coming to see their work! It was amazing!! I am so excited >.< To get into Sheridan for their bachelor arts - animation program is full but I'm going to start working on my application for next year! Actually I'm kinda confused on how applying there works. It seems like you have to apply to their bachelor of arts-animation program first, then their computer animation program and then the digital character animation program. Is that right? Someone please correct me if I'm wrong T.T #1 Goal : Calarts!

Hey, I am also looking at getting into Sheridan for Animation. Sheridan is a prized animation school that Disney, Pixar, and other top movie makers head hunt at. However, my parents recently bumped into an animation pro who has been in the business 17 years, and he said not to rule out Seneca college. (In Toronto) Seneca students have actually won some Oscars along the way. Have you thought about taking an Art Fundamentals course first? It will definitely help with your portfolio. Hope to hear back from you, -Christine

Hi! Thank you for the Reply! I didn't even know that Seneca had an animation program when I graduation from high school (dumb of me, I really should have checked that out). I've been hearing that a lot about taking their art course first. I am currently in durham college's animation program and have taken George Brown art class so I was hoping that would help me get into their animation program. But in the end if I don't get accepted than I most likely will take their Art program. What's your thoughts on Calarts? #1 Goal : Calarts!

John K's animation blog is an excellent resource for learning the fundamentals of animation; he's well-known in the industry and actually dropped out of Sheridan College lol. Some animators I've seen post on AWN forums would actually advocate being self-taught. http://johnkstuff.blogsp...son-1-construction.html
