Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can let me know about this? When they said a non-science/math/etc etc related course, music counts too right? >_<

acecanada wrote:Hi there everyone, I'm new to this forum!
I've been admitted to the McMaster BHSc program (I live in Alberta so I've already heard back) as well as McGill Biomedical Sciences and the University of Pennsylvania. I haven't heard very much about McMaster hear in Alberta (its not very well-known), but remember hearing its quite an excellent program while at Shad Valley. Can anyone tell me a little bit about BHSc or help me with my decision? I am really torn between these three choices (leaning away from McGill a little to be perfectly honest), and don't know what to choose. I really want to go into medicine after I complete my undergraduate degree. Penn seems to offer amazing resources and a top-notch experience (83% medical acceptance rate as well), and my parents can definitely afford it, but I'd like to hear more about McMaster before making a final decision.
Thank you all for your help in advance =) Congratz, this person is accepted into Mac BHSs this year. S/he is from Alberta. So sending Acceptance letter from BHSc has already been initiated. What about BC? LOL

Yes, his was the first decision I'd heard of. I have another friend from Nova Scotia who was accepted shortly after I was. It seems like they're working from the far parts of Canada inwards to Ontario. Does anybody know around how many our of province students are accepted or can somebody please give me a comparison of this program and McGill's Biomedical Sciences program? I'm sorry, but we really don't get to hear as much about it in Alberta 2012 Admissions: UCLA - Neuroscience [Accepted] UC Berkeley - Neuroscience [Accepted] University of Pennsylvania - College of Arts and Sciences [Accepted] University of Toronto (Trinity) - Neuroscience [Accepted] McMaster - BHSc [Accepted] University of Alberta - Immunology [Accepted] McGill - Biomedical Science [Accepted] University of British Columbia - Science [Accepted]

I think it varies from year to year, but we'll most likely receive them before May@Mac (May 12th). Edit: My guess would be the 2nd week. McMaster University 2016 Bachelor of Health Sciences

It's usually the Friday of the first week of May. So for u guys May 4th would be the day I'd check. Around 2:00 pm because that's when I got my acceptance letter. First semester final and second semester midterm marks are used to calculate our top 6... The "Important Dates" section on the OUAC website shows that universities may receive second semester marks as late as May 8, 2012 (but it could be earlier).
Since BHSc has told us that acceptances are sent out around early May - and most people are guessing within the first week (around May 4th), or before May@Mac - I'm wondering if midterm marks will make it in time for this "early May" acceptance period.
Have fourth years started to mark supp apps? Can anyone clarify this?

Can anyone clarify this? 4th years finished reading the supp apps awhile ago - the winter semester is over and they would've had to return all the supp apps by end of March/early April. Off topic, but did anyone apply to scholar's electives at Western? Did you get in or not? They had a record number of applicants this year, but cut down the people accepted from 100 (ish) to 50. I unfortunately didn't get in. I highly doubt that I'll get into Mac now. Accepted (in order) Biomed - Ottawa Biomed - Western Engineering - Western
Waiting on... Health Sciences - Mcmaster
