As many of you notice, waterloo hasn't been giving out much acceptances so far.
And since mid term is finally in, it is time for us to nervously wait.

So feel free to show off your amazing average and your acceptance.
Then we know when we should get our acceptance cheers

ps. I am still waiting for mine, wonder what's taking so long.
Applied to Math(first choice) and Software Eng
top 6 avg with prerequisite is 94.3%

Goooooood Luck everyone! cheers

What the hell, an average of 94.3% and you didn't get accepted to software engineering? Oh man, no way I will get accepted with an 85%.

Do you have programming experience? If so, then crap, I'm screwed.

And I know someone that was accepted into Pure Math with a 98.3 average in late march... he also scores really high on tests (72 on CCC and he thinks that he got in the 90's on the Euclid this year)

No programming experience, but i did exaggerate on some JQuery, Java, php , etc experience on the AIF.

And yeah don't know why I'm not accepted even to Math. Thought it should be easy. (Maybe because I didn't have my english marks until this midterm.)

Anyway, Waterloo Computer Science vs Software Engineering, which one would you go for.

I heard that comp. sci is more assignment based, and is more oriented at software. Software Engineering on the other hand is oriented a little bit more on hardware as well as software...

I'm just trying to repeat what my friend who is going into software told me when I asked him what the difference was... apparently he asked someone at waterloo who told him this

wow, really?
I also want to go to waterloo really bad, but I probably won't repeat a year just for that.

You got accepted to UTSC anyway, why not then switch over to waterloo, in 2nd year, or something.

Your Physics, Chemistry and English marks are killing your chances. To Mechanical Engineering I seriously doubt it unless you have/hade a job or some really credible experience.

For CS, maybe. Again I doubt it because your Physics and Chem marks aren't great, but your math marks are descent. Mine aren't much better but since your not hitting high 90's it is sort of difficult to decide. So for Mechanical, it's like a 20-30% chance. for CS it's more of a 50-60% chance.

I hate UTSC. I wanted to choose between UTSG or Waterloo but because of circumstances, I did not apply to UTSG. And I wouldnt like counting on switching after first year because it could get complicated like me being behind, or the school not even accepting my credits.

Um... This might be a dumb question but it's been bothering me somewhat...

When you log into quest, you click one of the programs you applied to...

There is a chart under the Education tab and under the column "Transcript Action" it says "Desired"...

What does this mean?

Thanks!! :)
