AS101: "An introduction to the science of astronomy, the process by which we develop astronomical principles and the application of these techniques to gain a modern understanding of our Solar System. Topics covered include the historical development of astronomy, understanding the night sky, Newton's law of gravitation, light and telescopes, and a detailed study of the Solar System. New data from recent explorations of Mars, Saturn and other celestial objects will be discussed."
AstronomyI know of one close friend who took this class and failed (BA Pysch major). Many others say this class is pretty straight forward, although there is some math involved, which should be a breeze for a Biz kid. You can look at Fall 2011 lecture slides for the class
Here!GG102: "This course provides an introduction to human geography. Topics include population and development, cartography and GIS, economic geography, cultural geography and political geography. In laboratory exercises, students learn methods and techniques used by geographers."
GeographyI've heard this is the easier of the two geographies (I took gg101), that being said this semester was a nightmare for people. It's hit or miss on the professor, some are helpful and straightforward... Some are very rude and arrogant.
PP201: "The course provides tools for the analysis of reasoning and the construction and evaluation of arguments. Examples from newspaper articles and theoretical discussions of science and social policy will be discussed."
PhilosophyYour typical second year philosophy class, 60-100 students + 25 student tutorials. Actually unaware we had this class, I would have taken it over PP111.
