My average is an 86% at the moment when midterms were sent out, and know i am capable of raising that to a 90% by the end of the year

I applied to McMaster Life Science, Queens Science, Western Science & Western Biomedicine

Is there a chance i would get accepted to any of these programmes by this month??????????????????

The bulk of the offers will be sent out anytime now. For sure Western Science and maybe on Queens (depending on your supp) ;Mc cutoff is 89 and likely Western Biomed is around the same cutoff maybe 1% lower. If you do get 90% in your final report, you can then call the admission dept and ask them to reconsider your application. If there are still spots, there is no reason why they won't take you. Good Luck!

Are you sure Western Biomed's cutoff is that high? Last year the cutoff was 85.5% and people this year are getting in with 86-87% averages.
As well, I have a top 6 average of 89.3 but I have to include my lowest mark(biology) so that makes my average for Mac Life Sci 88.5. By the word cutoff, is it meant if you're below that average, you have no chance of getting in at all or you'll be on the wait list for an offer in mid-late May?
Thanks

From what I've heard , the IB and AP students are being accepted at lower admission rate. If there is still space ( which is very unlikely)after everyone above 89 has accepted their offer , then maybe they will accept lower averages. I think once the Health Science rejects accepts their Life Science offer, then hopefully the average might come down. One can only hope!!
Macmaster admission is pretty good in answering questions if you call or e mail them.

Just to make sure, Western's Biomed program needs English, Advanced Functions and TWO OF Calculus, Data Management, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science or Earth&Space Science right? Does that mean I don't have to include my biology mark(I got bad)if I include Calculus and Chemistry? If that's the case, I still have over an 89% average. :)

You don't have to include your Biology mark and yes you are right with their admission requisite. You will for sure get in since generally Western cut off is lower than Mac and someone in this forum already confirmed it's 89 at Mac. So just be patient and wait. I'm also waiting to hear from them !!

Good Luck!

I would say Western Science for sure.
I would say Queens Science as well but I don't know about your extra-curricular activities or your PSE.

You should calculate your top 6 averages for each individual program based on what the pre requisites are, in case you haven't already done so. Almost positive that Queens and McMaster both require biology in your top 6.

Yes! For sure you have a chance. Your average is pretty good and as long as you have your requirements, you should be fine. Just focus on improving or keeping your current average (:

^As said by the posts above, the bulk of offers are going out these days so yep.

Good luck!

You should not worry yet, western biomedical science is a competitive program. Even I haven't been accepted, you would have to wait until mid may which is when they send out their last offers.
