Yeah right.
It isn't 18k at Queens, i'ts 13k; it isn't 5k at Schulich, its 7.5k. Methinks anyone this close to choosing a school who doesn't have any clue about the actual tuition of their choices is either a spoiled kid who doesn't have to worry about cost, or more likely, just a troll (e.g. 'will i be a target of racism"....). The kind of gross stereotyping that actually underlies racism.

Tuition, to everyone but you, refers to cost of taking classes. Like the rest of the world is supposed to know it means something special to you. Brilliant.
Definitely go to Schulich, lol.

Definitely go to Schulich, lol. Are you delusional? When did I say that tuition does not refer to cost of taking classes? Its 18K and you have to pay for residence. Troll. Go screw your mom. ^ Ha, nice critical thinking skills. You wrote Quote:exceedingly expensive tuition = around 18 grand a year Tuition refers to fees, not ALL your expenses to go to university. And the reality is you STILL have the numbers wrong, which was my main point (but nice trying to deflect it to somethign else). My hunch? No way in heck you got into Queen's Commerce. But its important for you to play up the 'target of racism' card. You can ask a thousand people who have actually attended Queens- including visible minorities- and they will refute this. You could also just visit and see its not even relevant in the business school given teh demographics.

Wow, last time I came to this thread it only had one reply. Well, I am a Geological Sciences major and I am also a Gael (Arts and Science frosh leader). If some of you are in Science I may be the one leading you around campus during frosh week this year haha. Heres a video your Gael's have put together for you ArtSci '16 :)! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ow28_Y-6mLs
Anyways, I'm glad to see a lot of you are considering Queen's and if you have any questions feel free to send me a message! Queen's University - Economics - Class of 2015

I don't get how you get 18k... Rez and meal plan is like 10-11k, tuition is 13k, books/supplies are 2k, fees are 1k... 15k for tuition and fees? Something isn't adding up... did you get a scholarship or something? It might be the mathlete in me, but rez + tuition = 22k not 18 Anyways, I live in Kingston which is predominantly Caucasian but racism is not a problem you see everyday in the city, and you especially wouldn't see racial discrimination at Queen's Commerce. It is such a diverse program, maybe not as diverse as the programs would be in Toronto, but definitely not the same racial proportions as the city, or rest of the school for that matter. My impression is that you think its like a daily occurrence and something to be frightened of, but on the real, racism is everywhere. York, for example: http://www.thestar.com/n...-anti-racism-rally-told
http://www.jewlicious.co...-fined-and-unaplogetic/
For the record, I'm attending Queen's next year. I also forgot to add that I'm asian... because nobody here cares.

I have officially accepted my offer and will be a member of the Queen's class of 2016. Hon BA planning a major in philosophy and minor in poli sci. I'm so excited. Now, is anyone else kinda disappointed with how you have to choose rez? The ranking system kinds stinks. I had to pick Double Single Single w/ shared Triple Quad I really don't want anything other than a double. But double gender specific was not okay. Anyone know what the chances are of getting double rooms? QUEEN'S CLASS OF 2016

I don't know the exact chances in terms of percentages etc. but there is a pretty good chance that you will be put in a double as there are more double rooms than single rooms in rez. Then again the lottery system is a bit sketchy because sometimes people get a room that wasn't even on their preferred list. Queen's Life Sciences '15 - Feel free to ask me any questions

I can't wait for September! I think I put mostly singles as my top res room rankings, but I'm not too worried about ending up on West cuz I know that no matter what I'm going to have a good time :) I'm pretty sure I'll end up with a single room with shared bath though because I did submit one of those special consideration forms about my peanut allergy... I guess we'll see! :D Anyways, can't wait to see you guys soon!! 95 days ;) QUEEN'S ARTSCI 2016!!

Hopefully someone responds to this! Is Queen's Arts competitive? I will most likely apply to Queen's with an 84 to an 85% average. **Shields** Accepted: University of Toronto: Social Sciences + Vic One (Pearson Stream) Carleton University: Honours Science University of British Columbia: Arts

Your marks are quite good, but not fantastic. Usually the first round of acceptances go out to kids who have 90%+ or high 80% averages, so you may be stuck waiting for a while to hear on your acceptance. A lot will depend on your PSE too, so make sure you write a good one. If they like your PSE and you maintain an 85%, you should get in at some point, although it definitely wouldn't hurt to try to bump your average up a percent or two. Are you a broke student? I've earned over $500 in amazon giftcards from Swagbucks since August, 2011. I haven't had to pay for a single textbook out of pocket since joining, and I have money left over for coffee! Interested?
