Does anyone know when Waterloo and UofT send the majority of their offers? I think after that date is when we could finally get a cutoff avg for McMaster's engineering program.

They did not, but people who have received an acceptance were told to maintain an average of 82%. I think it's safe to assume that 82% is the cut-off. I called mac today, and they said at the end of next week, they will have a good estimate at their cutoff average for the program. They said it was at 86% right now, so I asked if it would go down to around ~84% after end of next week, and she said that she is not sure, but she did say that this year's application pool is much stronger than last years, and last years cutoff was 83%.

I am hoping it will go down to 83.5% at least, because personally all the offers they sent out where to people/friends with 86%+ average that are waiting for Waterloo and UofT to send them offers, so maybe end of next week, they will have a rough estimation on who accepts Mac's offers and then lower the cutoff with that data.
So now we just have to wait for Waterloo and UofT to send the majority of their offers out and see how it goes..

Are they gonna send out any acceptances to people with 84~85 averages? Someone told me if you have a 84+ you'd pretty much get an acceptance :( Mechatronics ----> University of Western Ontario ----> Applied ----> Pending

wow 86 really? thats weird, a friend of mine who came back for another year had an 84.8 and got accepted back in march

I can't really see the cutoff not dropping... I'm sure an overwhelming amount of people (especially those with >90 averages) will likely have other program choices. University of Waterloo: Systems Design Engineering

Don't worry guys on their twitter they said their next round of engineering offers are coming in the next few business days. :) Let's hope they drop the average to atleast 85% this time  McMaster University

Not so much for Chemical since a very large chunk of engineers despise chemistry (in my experiences anyways xD) haha, so it's usually not too competitive. Civil is much more popular, and is competitive to get into. You'd probably have to end first year with an average in the low 70s to get in which is very doable, but definitely difficult. ALRIGHT, guys.
I JUST CALLED.
Here is what they said to me.
They said:
1. They will only review the FIRST program you have applied there for. If you, for example, apply to two programs, they will only look at your first choice there. You have to TELL them to review the other choice as well, early enough so that there are spots for you to get in. I applied to Math & Stats and Engineering there. I got my Math & Stats offer in January. I won't be getting an engineering one...
2. To anyone applying to engineering at McMaster that hasn't got it, you will not be getting in. The admissions officer (whoever, the head honcho, I bitched and complained untilt hey put me through to the head honcho) told me that engineering is on HOLD and they are not admitting anymore people. She said that the probability of you getting in NOW is basically zero, since it's full and completely wait listed. So, if you applied to engineering and aren't in, you will not be getting in with almost complete certainty.

Does anyone know if it is possible to be rejected from your chosen stream after first year? I was leaning towards civil engineering, but I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to handle the competitive environment of being accepted into second year. I'm going to May@Mac tomorrow to make my final decision, but if any could give me their two cents, it'd be much appreciated. McMaster Univesity: Engineering I (Co-Op) (FIRST YEAR)

weird I read on twitter that another acceptances are going to come out this week.
