I"m pretty sure my first choice for University is UWO.

I've been accepted to Psychology and MOS.

I'm split between the two.

Eventually I want to try to get into their HBA program by applying for it in my second year. Its not a must for me but it would definitely be interesting.

I like Psychology because I'm very interested in how people think, I feel that I could really dig into that. At the same time MOS seems interesting because I"m into business(I do a lot of Internet Marketing kind of stuff.

I would like some advice from people at UWO who are in those two programs. Whats it like and how interesting and useful are the programs? Is the Ivey HBA worth applying for?

For what its worth I've been accepted at Queens for their general first arts program, and York for both Econ and Psychology. I'm visiting Queens in a few days so I won't rule it out yet.

The courses involved in pursuit of both of these degrees are very traditional. Meaning you take notes, read them, and regurgitate them for the exam. I'm not sure if that will help you in any way but it's out there.

Throughout my first year at Western, I've encountered many people who switched programs from BMOS to Psychology. They claim that it's because it's easier to get the higher marks in Psych, but again, it's very subjective and is only relevant if you plan on applying for the HBA.

However, the good news is that you don't really need to make up your mind until next March! There is ample room in your schedule to take your MOS courses along with a Psych elective so you can try them out and make a decision when you get a good grasp of both programs. (:

I would strongly suggest MOS over Psych if you want to do business, especially Ivey. MOS might get a lot of bad rep for being in the shadow of Ivey, but you still are exposed to a lot more business than you'd otherwise get in psychology. MOS isn't too bad, and you'd be surrounded by people who are more likely to be your classmates in Ivey. Also, if you want to look at pure job employment, your opportunities are higher in MOS than in Psych if you don't pursue an HBA.

My best friend took both full-year MOS and psych this year. He highly recommends psych with Dr Mike, everyone greatly enjoys that class and provided you keep up with the readings you should be fine. My friend finished with a 96% in that course. He also took MOS (he has AEO for ivey) and said it was definitely less interesting (from his perspective) and therefore it wasn't as easy for him. It ended up being his lowest mark (88%). I think you should take both courses in your first year and see which you want to continue with from there, seeing as if you applied to both you'd be in the social science faculty and easily have room for both in your schedule.
