I did! And he really liked me (or so it seemed, he was super nice). He said he thought I would fit in really well and everything and that I should "follow my instincts" because I know what to do, whatever that means. lol. Funny thing is, the guy I know who got in thought he was a dick!!

By the way I emailed someone and they said that if you you do not receive an offer by Monday, you will not be receiving one at this time.

I wanted to go for an interview but the weather screwed it up. I think the professor remembered me though from the open house because I asked a lot of questions.
For my portfolio I based all of my pieces on the short story I wrote for the writing portion, and the students I spoke to thought it was a good idea.
I hope they accept us soon I don't want Monday to come and it still says decision pending.

Well I've been refused Carleton architecture yesterday. Horrible feeling but moving on... Good luck to everyone else.

@theecha and krankd, I don't have my portfolio online anywhere, but basically, I didn't really prepare anything specific (actually i dont remember what exactly i put in haha) because I've been making a lot of art regularly for a long time now, so I just found some of my favourite pieces and sent those. The main thing I kept in mind was originality and personal statement. They mentioned that your portfolio work should serve as commentary on the world around you, so I made sure that my artwork reflected my views and opinions revealing a new side to things (one of my pieces was a watercolor painting of little red riding hood pointing a gun at an unsuspecting wolf). The one thing I really made sure to stay away from was drawing pictures of things that already exist, like, I have a bunch of charcoal portraits but I didn't include any because the admissions people want to see creativity, not necessarily skill. You can build skills with practice, but imagination is a gift that can't be "learned".

Actually, one of the people that I know that got accepted did stuff that he just copied ! Not like creative artwork being copied but like still-life copies. :/

I was admitted to alternate program (History and theory architecture).... Does anyone know of this program? How is it? Is it easy to transfer to Architecture in the first year? The history and theory courses might be boring to me....I am really confused right now :(

I still haven't been declined or accepted. My status says, "Pending: Await Criteria Rating". I'm hoping I get some sort of answer next week. And I'm getting anxious and worried. I worked my butt off on the portfolio. I really tried to go over the top and beyond. My marks might be holding me back. My average is around 83-84. They might be waiting for people to decline the offer, so they can admit others. Anyway, I emailed the admissions officer, to maybe get some clarity in my application status. Hopefully she'll get back to me soon. I've been thinking about going into the history and theory if I don't get in. But I also have an option of going to Waterloo for planning. Which is a very solid and interesting option. Ahh, University is so nerve racking.
