If you want to work in Canada, go for Laurier.
I would say go where you think will get you the best work experience.
Take this hypothetical (key word hypothetical) example:
A. Students at the University of Markham (ranked as Canada's top university ahead of McGill, UofT and UBC) can only get jobs at a small credit union. If you go there, you'll likely work at Tim Hortons or McDonald's, or maybe get an office job for 2-3 summers before working at the credit union for 1-2 summers.
B. Students at the University of Soo (never or rarely appearing on world-wide university ranking and an afterthought in some people's minds) can only get jobs at Goldman Sachs. If you go there, you'll likely work at a small boutique or one of the Big 5 banks for 2-3 summers and Goldman for 1-2 summers.
Now, your choice is between A and B. If you would prefer option A, please leave this forum and never come back. If you chose option B, congratulations, you have some semblance of a brain.
Clearly this is only a hypothetical example where the realities are stretched to the furthest extremes. But at this level you can see why work experience is very important.
For this reason, I would advise anyone (who's ultimate goal is a job post-grad) to choose the school they feel will get them the most work experience and the best chance at a good job post-grad. If two schools are identical or fairly similar (no real edge to one), then choose the one with a better reputation. Don't just rely on reputation to get you everywhere and end up jobless.
