I would like to give a huge thank you to my art teacher, Mr. Barth,at Glenlawn Collegiate. Not only does he expose us to many variations of art (3D clay sculputers, glass beading and bowls, duct-tape, stained glass, rings, hot glue, copper sculptures, and many more), but he also planned the best trip I have ever had in my life! The effort and dedicationhe put in to our trip was phenomenal! Everyone had fun and learned a lot about artwork and history.
Thank you Mr. Barth!!

I would like to dearly thank my english teacher Mr. Bunting from St. Thomas Aquinas S.S. Mr. Bunting is an amazing teacher because he not only taught the required curriculum but he also threw in a little bit of other subjects when explaining things. For example, when we were reading the post apocalyptic novel, The Chrysalids, my teacher would explain using the help of science and history, what the author was trying to get across about the process of this said apocalypse. Mr. Bunting also had a very captivating way of speaking. He would crack jokes, and make everyone laugh which provided for a very happy, lighthearted atmosphere for working. Another thing which I found very nice was that he had the ability to be everyones friend but he knew where the boundary was between friend and educator and always put his foot down when necessary. He was strict when it was needed and ALWAYS putoureducation first. I tend to slack alot so I was really glad that he was the first teacher to actually fix that. At the beginning of the school year, school didn't matter to me as much as it does now and because of his teaching and admirable qualities, I was able to realize that school wasn't at all boring if you find a fun way to do it. Mr. Bunting was the reason why I improved 10+ percent in all of my classes in a matter of 2 months! He always believed in me and assured me when I was slacking that I am a great student and that I could achieve so much with a mind like mine. Mr. Bunting always believed in me and that's why he is one of my favourite teachers and also why I am writing about him! Trust me when I say he is an amazing teacher and I truly hope to have him for the next 3 years as my English teacher.

Thanks to Mr. Stuart Taylor, my Grade 12 English teacher, for teaching me how to write an academic research paper. This was the most important skill I learned in high school in preparation for university. Thank You!

I'd like to thank Mr. Chiu from Danforth CTI!
Thanks for all the help this year and all the help for the next month or so.
Your math class is so flipping amazing, it makes me want to scream " I LOVE MATH" which alarms me a bit, well actually quite a lot.
Many students have benefited from your teaching, and I know that will be the same in the future as well.

Thank you Mr. Chiu for your ingenious math madness.

As well, a side note, thank you to Ms. Ungar also from Danforth CTI, thanks you for helping me join art class in school. Be strong and fight! I hope you'll recover soon and come back to the school!

The students will be waiting for you. :)

~~~ just a little more :< ~~~
I would like to thank my construction technology teacher Mr. Joel Knightly at Saint Mary Secondary School for his dedication to start a summer program for students interested in carpentry. If it was not for him, I would not be attending Canadore college in September 2012. Mr. Knightly conviced me to take the construction program in the summer of 2010 and that is when I discovered the interest and passion I have for carpentry. Thanks again Mr. K you were a great teacher.
I would like to thank Mrs. Johnson at St. Edmund Campion. She was my guidance cousellor and I surely would not have made it through my high school years without her. She was there for me when my aunt disappeared leaving me with a 2 year old child to take care of, when my academic average began to decrease, and most importantly when my house caught on fire. During that time I developed a fear for fire alarms and she took the time to tell me when the fire drills would happen so I could take a day off and pull myself together.
She was a true saint and an amazing role model for a Catholic school. Unfortunately, she doesn't get enough credit for what she does. Students never take the time to remember guidance counsellors because apparently that's "JUST THEIR JOB". But I assure you that Mrs. Johnson was different and that's why I am taking this time now to thank her for everything she has done. As i mentioned before, I would not have made it through my high school years without her--literally.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
I'd like to thank my Creative Writing teacher, Harold Hoefle from John Abbott College. You taught me everything I know about writing, observing, interpreting. And from this, I have evolved incredibly as a writer and an artist. You were my teacher but also my friend: you came to support me in my first art exhibition. You keep in touch. And you've taught me things that will stay with me forever. Thank you.
If it wasn't for Prof. Florian Bail (Dalhousie University), I don't know that I would have confidently declared my major in Political Science. Prof. Bail was my introductory Political Science professor in my first year of university. Everyday he came to class with enthusiasm and excitement, ready to feed our minds with his endless knowledge. This man knows everything there is to know about political science! His great teaching inspired me to continue my studies in political science. Because of him, I declared my major in Political Science and am planning to do an honours degree in it, as well as continue into graduate studies to recieve my Masters in Poli Sci.
Thank you, Prof. Bail, for your constant encouragement and belief in me and the rest of your students. Dalhousie University is a better place with you as an educator. Continue to inspire!
I would like to thank Professor Smyth for all his help. Thank you sir, for answering all my lengthy emails about the course. Thank you for always being there when we have questions. Thank you for all the jokes -- 3-hour lectures seem like nothing when they're taught by you. Waiting for test results is a torture for all students, so thank you for being a quick marker cheese All in all, thank you for a great semester.
I would like to thank my two-time gym teacher, coach, and Link Crew Leader, Moira Covent.
During my four years at St. Augustine Secondary School, I have changed from a timid grade nine to a confident young woman, and you have had a huge part in this. There are so many things I would like to thank you for, and they include: bringing enthusiasm and fun to every gym class I’ve been in, inspiring me to join the Link Crew at St. Augustine (one of the best experiences I’ve had at high school), for coaching the Slo-Pitch team to a gold medal at ROPSSAA, and for always being there for me to offer advice when I have an issue.
I know that even as I get older and move onto bigger and better things, I’ll always be able to find you down in the gym office when the world gets a little too scary for me. :)
I need to say thank you to all the junior/senior high school teachers at CWAA! Without their help I would not be graduating this June! There are two teachers that really have stood out for me. Mr. Elias and Mrs. Kelloway. They both make learning meaningful and fun. They motivate you to do your best even when you think you have nothing left. This year my grades improved so much based on the motivation, encouragement and guidance of these two teachers. Mr. Elias balances my school life with helping me with personal goals, fitness, guidance and being an excellent role model. Mrs. Kelloway pushes me academically to do my best. She doesn't let me slide and expects better. Her guidance in improving my skills from an average student to a stronger student has helped me reach my goal of gold chords for graduation! It is hard to leave out the other teachers because they also have made a big impact in my schooling. Thank you to the teachers at CWAA for making my goals, part of their goals, for caring, for encouraging, for having high standards and for making learning fun and meaningful. Thank you hardly seems enough! So, if I win a $250 scholarship, expect a small token of my appreciation.
I want to thank my psychology professor at U of T, Professor Steve Joordens! He inspired me to change my major in my second year of university, but also inspired a new found love for learning! Prof. Joordens was an educator, a role model, and a charismatic individual that kept the interest of his students from the day he first walked into class, to the concluding lecture. He was able to connect with us all, and was always full of fun examples that helped in understanding complicated aspects of psychology. A brilliant man, and a professor I wish I could have over and over again. Thank you sir and have a great summer!
I want to thank my art teacher Ms. Woods(Dian Wood), for everything she has helped me with! My highschool experience will lead me to what i am going to do in University/College and she has had such a great impact on my decisions.
Art had always been something casual and not so "big" to my life before taking her class, but she has helped me to learn so much more about contouring, shading and creativity, along with many other things that I never knew before and it has taken my interest to another levelcolors . As stubborn as I am, and as much as I didn't like to be told what I needed to do to make things better, I gave in and in the end your advice and help with my art and ability was always right. It really payed off.
You have assisted me and given me advice through the whole year of her teaching and I learned so much! My drawing and motivation to do more artistic things has become so much more than it was half a year ago. You've taught me that "the sky is the limit," and to not give up or settle for okay rather than EXTRAORDINARY or UNIQUE.
Because of your great help and teaching I am definately going to do what ever it may take to be the best I can be in my future career (trying to become an artist of some sort) and my life in university. You have made such an impact on my life just by teaching, and by giving me one on one help because YOU believed in me when no one else believed in what i did, none the less anything that had to do with art. You've taught me that I CAN succeed.
I have created some very beautiful things and look at art in a different way than before.There is so much more to it, and it is really theraputic. My new found hobbie you introduced me to has helped me to live more stress-free and get away from a tougher world in reality. Art is my escape, and it is something i can be proud of and good at. Without you, I would be trapped, not knowing where life would be taking me You have always been so patient and kind with me too, even when I'm stubborn and stressed. Your willingness to take so much time out of your days and work with me is really wonderful, and i respect you so much! Your a wonderful, creative, imaginative quirky person and the best art teacher I will ever know. cheers
With every day that I am still in your presence, learning your knowledge, I can see and feel myself getting better at what I am working on. There is much more for me to learn, but you've helped me come so far! :) I look up to you and hope that maybe i can even follow in your shoes at one point... I hope you may read this and see how much it really means to me, even if I do not win the scholarship :) You are an important asset in my life.. Thank you Ms. Woods. You're truly awesome. <3
I would like to thank stuart bedard from cegep john abbott college. I have never had a teacher who showed so much passion for psychology and for his students, he went out of his way to help me excel in his class and it's because of him that ive had the motivation to pursue my career in psychology. He taught me that once you have a passion for something you can truly accomplish your goals.
To professor Ryan Hamilton, Thank you.
I've never met another professor who had more enthusiasm. When pursuing an Honours degree, it helps to have professors like him who engage their students, encourage participation, offer a multitude of examples to ensure that each and every student understands the concept being discussed, and who just have fun in general. He was approachable, understanding, and just an all-around out-of-this-world professor. I had his class every Wednesday evening at 6:00pm until 9:00pm. He taught Psychological Statistics and APA-formatting. Needless to say, it wasn't a course I looked forward to. However, with him as a professor, it wasn't only bearable, but strangely enjoyable. I honestly have nothing negative to say about such a spectacular individual and I look to him as an inspiration. Here's to hoping that he sticks around for many years to come and inspires more students (as he did me).
Again, thank you.
I wanted to say a big THANK YOU! to my professor Nelson Fok, at Concordia University College of Alberta for always pushing me to do my best and has taught me many things about the Environmental Health program, what to do and not to do and what it has to offer. He always makes the time to help me out and is more then willing to answer any questions I may have.
I would like to say thank you to my wonderful advisor Monica Ackerman at Jarvis Collegiate Institute. She has helped me through my many struggles at Jarvis as I adapted to the High School environment, and as I finish up my Junior Year, I can say she has been one of the greatest helps. She has not only been there for me academically, but also emotionally and mentally. Even without winning a prize, I'm glad just to appreciate the work my advisor does, as well as the work of others. So I think they all deserve a round of applause, especially my advisor, Monica Ackerman
Without you I'd be nothing!
