I'm desperately in need of a summer job. I was wondering, what's the best way to actually go about applying, and when? I'm literally willing to do almost anything... retail, food, etc. I've never had a real job before, I've never even applied anywhere. Do people just walk into stores and ask to fill out an application? Also, if I'm available to start work at the beginning of June, should I apply now, or wait? I would just walk in, and start sooner rather than later.

Walk into the place, say you want a job, hand them your resume and ask for an application....

There are a variety of ways to complete a job application. Employment applications can be completed online at large number of jobs sites or application forms can be completed directly at company web sites. In some sectors, employment application forms are completed in person. The best way to apply for a job depends on what the employer wants. You still may need to complete an application even if you have submitted a resume. Here's how to follow guidelines to ensure your application receives full consideration.
