Hey guys, I've been so busy, never got a chance to post in this thread. I received an offer for CAP as well, but just having the interview was a great opportunity too! Hope to see you all at waterloo! :)

Hi guys, I got an acceptance to CAP as well! Nice to meet you all : )

Which science program were you guys considering going into? I was leaning toward Honours Science because of the 3 electives you can choose per term.

Also, which residence were you guys considering? :)

Hope to see you all in the fall!

Congrats! I decided to go with life sciences with biomed as my major. But it really doesn't matter if you choose either honours or life sci. I'm hoping for waterloo residences (In particular V1, since I really would prefer a single room)

Join the fb group guys! :)

Looking forward to meeting you all this Fall.

Hi everyone :)

I'm not sure how many of you still check these forums, but on the off chance that you do, I had some questions for this year's applicants for the CAP program and this was pretty much the only thread I could find... :)

Before I start going off and asking a bunch of questions, I just wanted to congratulate the lot of you who got interviews and those who made it in. :) Maybe in a year or two, I might get to meet you all *fingers crossed*

Anyway, I'm entering grade 12 this year, and I'm definitely going to apply for this program. Could anyone give me an idea of how competitive their averages/extracurriculars were? Did the AIF questions make you think outside the box, or were they pretty cookie-cutter? Was the interview more casual, let's-have-a-chat type, or was it formal?

Any details would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance! :D

Hi mik123,

I don't want to list my ECs for privacy issues, but I'll give some advice.

In my opinion, your extracurricular activities are extremely important if you want to be offered an interview. If you have amazing Ecs, then your marks should not handicap you (as along your average is over 90). I know someone who was rejected with a 95 average while another person was offered an interview with a 90 average.

(For my ECS, I worked with children, seniors, and mentally and physically disabled people.)

Also, try finding a volunteer placement at a pharmacy. Although it is not required, CAP does prefer applicants who have had some experience in a pharmacy (source: ken).

the AIF questions were easy. You don't need to worry.

As for the interview, I won't reveal anything in order to keep it fair for future applicants. (sorry)

Hope this helps!
