Sorry for all of the totally random posts and thanks to helping me figure out what to do with my life bigsmurf

Ok so, I cant decide whether to major in Nursing, Con-Ed, Global Development and other random degrees. Instead of just taking a wild guess at what I want to do I think Im going to take a Gap Year.

I DEFINETLY will go to Uni after 1 year. I want to go to UBC or Queens.

What should I do in my gap year? I dont want to stay at home and work the WHOLE time. Traveling? Volunteering? Internship? Hmm.. so many options! :) If anyone has ANY random ideas than feel free to share!! Even if not mentioned above..

Thanks, looking forward to the feedback :D

*If you are apposed to gap years than savve your opinions to yourself.

Get accepted, then defer to next year if you haven't done already.

It's a great option, there are tons of programs that take you abroad for volunteer work for almost nothing. Look up Kaitmavik and sister programs.

Pick up a hobby really put your back into it, read perspective changing literature, and keep asking yourself why you're going to college until you know you're not just following the motions.

Also, pick up some textbooks on subjects that you're interested in and go through them, just to gauge your interest in your major.

Frankly, if I could do it again, I'd take a gap year.

Travel if you can! But you might need to work for a while first to afford it.

Take the year to really figure out what you want to do. I took a few years off to work and save. When I finished high school I though I wanted to be a chemist, by the time i went to college I had decided on accounting and I am so glad I did. I was able to save the money to pay for my education.

I know that alot of my sister`s friends took a gap year, but mostly to party.

FYI, Algonquin College actually has a GAP year program. http://www2.algonquincol...lobal-studies-gap-year/

It is more expensive then a year at university but you get to travel.

You could try looking into "working abroad" programs- Shecana International (Canadian company) have some in the UK, New Zealand and a bunch of other places... I'm currently on a high school exchange with them and they're a good company to work with if you're looking for that sort of thing :)
