Anyone know if I could get into York's collaborative with Seneca with a 83-86% average?? I'm really starting to worry :( Also when the universities calculate your top 6 U course average, is it counting ONLY the mid term of second semester and final of first? Because I have 3 really hard course right now and my easy ones are next semester which will boost my average hopefully. Please respond ASAP I'm literally freaking out right now!!!

If you look on einfo, the avg for york-seneca is 76-81% (been a while, check to be sure, and yeah, its only 1st sem final and 2nd sem midterms. :)

thanks!! :D

Hi everyone!

I'm a first-year student at the Ryerson University site for the Ryerson, Centennial, George Brown Collaborative Nursing Program. If you have any questions feel free to ask me and I'll message back with a reply ASAP!

Thanks and good luck in your last year of high school!

hey, I'm applying for Centennial and George Brown collaborative nursing with Ryerson and I wanted to know what exact grade average did they want? I did chem and bio 12 last semester and I got 81 in chem and 83 in bio and my goal is to get atleast an 85 avg whereas right now I have a solid 80 with my bio and chem with my three classes this semester. So I'm pretty nervous because I know my marks are not up there yet. Also do you know the avg for the people applying last year and what was your average and do you think I have a better chance getting in to york university with my avg than ryerson? thank you and sorry for the many questions :)

Oh wow it look me long enough to find a person from the Ryerson nursing program.
Anywhoo, I just want to ask if I want to apply for the nursing program--the 4 year program at ryerson and the bridging programs with Centennial and George Brown--How do I properly apply for those? I get confused with it because Ryerson has collaborative programs but i'm not sure how it is possible to apply to colleges in a university application site. It's like a make it or break it kind of thing which scares me.
As well, how many spots are in your nursing program? thanks :-D

Since its a collaborative program, I think you can apply to Ryerson-Centennial and Ryerson-GB on the ouac application. that's what I'm gonna do, I don't see myself doing anything else really! :)

it ranges from 100-200 depending on the university. You can find the exact enrollments on electronicinfo.ca.

hi everyone! cyclops
I'm applying to the ryerson nursing program. It says on the Ryerson website that applicants need either a grade 11 or grade 12 math. Let's say I did better in grade 11 math than grade 12. Does the university look at the higher mark, or will they look at the grade 12 math mark?
Also, if I decide to retake grade 12 biology second semester, will they look at the second semester mark or the first semester's mark?
sorry for all the questions >.<''

They'll look at your higher math mark. And for your bio, most universities say that if you retake a course then they'll count the best mark. I'm pretty sure that Ryerson will look at the higher of the two :)

1. Which school(s) are you applying to?
UBC Okanagan - Nursing
Douglas College - Nursing
If my parents would let me, I would apply to schools outside BC (preferable the Faculty of Nursing in University of Alberta or the Nursing Program at Ryerson)silent

2. What other programs are you applying to as your back up?
SFU - Molecular Biology and Biochemistry
SFU - Arts
UBC Vancouver - Sciences
UBC Okanagan - Sciences

3. What GPA are you aiming for for your final year?
Term 1 marks are not going well, predicting around an 81-82 average :( My goal is to raise to at least an 85 - 87 average by the end of term 2

I haven't seen any nursing hopefuls or students from BC! If I could get some more info about other good nursing schools in BC and the ones I mentioned above I would love to hear it!
APPLIED TO:
UBC Okanagan (Nursing) - Pending
UBC Okanagan (Sciences) - Accepted!
Simon Fraser University (Arts) - Pending
Simon Fraser University (Communications) - Accepted!

GOING TO:
Undecided :S

Hi again, guys.
So I just applied through the OUAC and I specifically chose the program "Ryerson University- Nursing at Ryerson". Is this strictly a 4-year program? I thought that when you choose to be in the nursing program of Ryerson University you're automatically in the joint program. I'm confused again argh please and thanksbrilsmurf

EXTRA - I want current Nursing students to be included as well! Tell us where you go, where you applied to and what your GPA in Grade 12 was. Also, a few pointers, tips and guidance is always great.

Reveal yourselves! batman I'm going to be applying for the Western-Fanshawe Collaborative BScN Program. Health Sciences is most likely going to be my third choice, and at UWO as well (parents won't let me leave London, rez payment is too expensive for us). I'm aiming for a 95.

I know I'm a little early.. but hey, August is here next week and the back to school commercials are going to be playing. I'm very excited to be going back as this is my final year of high school. :)

I'm currently a UWO student at fanshawe. When I applied in high school my average was 87. I'm not sure what my first year average was, but I got on the deans list so at least 80.
Honestly, my biggest pointer for anyone going into nursing, is to take exercise science in high school. It saved my ass in anatomy, nutrition and physiology.
If you're considering the western program, you should also consider the fact that starting fall 2012, the program has a new layout. It will be more like the conestoga mac program, being that you do all 4 years at fanshawe, instead of 2 and 2. At the same point in time, keep in mind that essentially you will be doing all the same things. The main exception (for now at least) is that in first year you get twice as much clinical placement at the fanshawe site because they don't spend half of second semester in sim lab like you do at western.

If you, or anyone else, has questions about the program (or just nursing) feel free to message me!

Hey, do you think it would be worth staying back a semester to get an exercise science credit? I didn't take the class this semester and it's not offered next semester :/
