Hiya, I noticed that no one made an acceptance thread for this year's Con. Ed applicants... so I decided to make one. :) I'm just curious who else applied to Con. Ed, and at which university, and who got accepted... We can all anticipate/ worry/ celebrate here! So if you're applying to concurrent this year, feel free to post about yourself... PS: I applied to Queen's Concurrent Arts and Science I just handed in my Queen's PSE 20 minutes ago, and I keep worrying I made some sort of mistake on it, because I was so rushed handing it in. Wish someone else could have made this thread... because I highly doubt I'm going to get in and I'll feel silly for having started it. Oh well.

Accepted for Intermediate/Senior Science at Brock, Queen's, and Trent. I'm still waiting and hoping for my University of Toronto acceptances (Scarborough and Mississauga)! Anyone get an acceptance from U of T yet?

I just got into Queens Arts/Sci Con Ed! I was so surprised. After I sent in my application I was so sure I wasn't getting in... I wonder if it's because they're accepting a lot more people this year... hmm...

They are. :) Previous years, (with the exception of mine) they accept about 110-120 people. Last year: 174 (Biggest load of acceptance on record. haha...) This year, according to my Prof: It's going up. (He wasn't able to provide exact numbers when we asked him). So for those Queen's con-ed '16 hopefuls, this is probably great news! Queen's Con-current Education. =)

They accept more than the number Omok indicated. That's just the number they expect to accept their offer based on a statistical analysis. You can expect the number of offers they make to be closer to 300 for all the spots, with the expectation that many people turn them down. I'm so glad Queen's is getting its act together this year and giving out acceptances at a resonable time. Last year they did a system overhaul and had many technical difficulties so the majority of offers didn't go out until April or May. Congrats to everyone who's heard from any of the schools they applied to so far! Be proud of yourselves, you've worked hard and earned it. And for those of you who choose Queen's I'm especially excited, because I will actually get to meet you as one of your frosh week leaders! We're already planning for your arival to ensure you have an amazing experience. :) QUEEN'S CON-ED CLASS OF 2015

My daughter has been accepted to both Queen's U and Trent U for ConEd/Arts. Just found out about her being accepted to Trent U last Friday.
We are looking forward to going to the Queen's Open House next week. Second time visiting. Expect it will be different this time seeing it while the students are there - it was pretty quiet last summer when we visited.
We went to the Open House at Trent today (Sat.). Very friendly staff and students. Some nice dorms too.

Congratulations to your daughter! Those are all very good accomplishments that she (and you) should be proud of. Glad to hear you liked Trent. We are really good for having mostly friendly students and staff. I feel like a lot of country folks come here so they bring that nice small town community feel to the campus with them. On an unrelated note, I was one of the people giving residence tours in Otonabee College. I wonder if I saw you at all, haha... BaBaBlue We toured Otanabee around 3:30 - my daughter had her hair in pigtails and a short grey coat with a hood & red toggles. We were shown E house.

I didn't show E house to anyone all day so it definitely wasn't me :(. Queen's-Trent Concurrent Education, '14 (Trent B.Sc) and '15 (Queen's B.Ed)

Question for people who were accepted to Queen's for Con-Ed... what is your average? I've applied to the Arts Con-Ed and have a current average of 88%, this being said I also have an immense amount of experience and exta curriculars that I put on my PSE what are my chances of getting accepted?

My daughter's average in Grade 11 was 93.5% and 95% at the end of semester 1 Grade 12 (Advanced Functions, History, Philosophy and Canadian Family).

I think people got in in the past with your marks, but I don't know about this year. I'm the only person I know in real life who applied to Con. Ed. I did hear at the open house that the acceptance rate is going to be higher this year (apparently, in past years, it was 10%, but that seems like a really low estimate to me!) because they're accepting more people.

Well, people on these forums, who got accepted last year, all had, if my memory's correct, low-90s at least.... But to be frank, I only know of one person who did not have 90s in con-ed this year... BUT BUT BUT BUT there's still good news. 1. This up coming year, is going to be the BIGGEST con-ed acceptance year ever. (Since the faculty is expanding). 2. I believe the policy is, as long as you have 87% or above, it is your ECs that they put a stronger focus on. (So having a lot of good ECs = great!!) Queen's Con-current Education. =)
