I think most should - those things are a large part of what English class should be about. But being knowledgeable about writing and literature is important and helpful for the real world, too ('the pen is mightier than the sword' and all that). There's more to intelligence than being good at math and science.

That's all people think intelligence is about, If you're not good at math or science, you're dumb these days. But you're right, there is more to it just than math and science.

Kids who say they didn't study, if you didn't study.. no need to go around telling everyone... seriously!

People who think English class is pointless.

I'm right now in school, at lunch, and just read this.
I must heart this quote, because English class is truly amazing! <3
It depends on the teacher too, I guess.

THANK YOU!

People tend to apply the "most employable" (by what they think) degrees with the most intelligence as well, which is also a common fault.

Math and Science aren't the only "logical" subjects-- there is just as much as logic in the Humanities/Social Science subjects, like English, Philosophy, PoliSci, International Relations, Modern Languages, Linguistics, History, Anthropology etc. - heck, even the Fine Arts.

You will find brilliant people in any field of study. :)

I really get super annoyed when kids stop dead in the halls. My school was buildt for 1200 students and we have 1600 so its crowded enough. I dont need people stopping dead in their tracks to talk to someone. Its mostly grade nines that do it, after they have been shoved out of the way they tend to learn.

Supply teachers who mark you away even when your there, you raised your hand to tell them you were there and helped the teacher figure out who is who

Grade 12 English teachers that read to the class. If were in grade 12 we should be able to read a book by ourselves.

Being in a class where 80% of the kids show up late. Honestly hearing that damn door open and close over and over again is super annoying.

Teachers who hate you for missing class to play sports. Sorry for being active and representing our school..

People who ask to look at my notes and lose them.
The spontaneous groups of people that seem to concentrate in one section of the hallway, leaving a space that only half a person could squeeze through.
Essays.
Uniforms.
Girls who roll their kilts so that they barely cover their underwear. Why do they bother wearing a kilt at all?
People who don't flush the toilet.
People who you watch go to the washroom and leave without washing their hands.
People who don't understand the purpose of speed bumps in the student parking lot.

Honestly, I feel like this is just pet peeves in general.

- people who decide to stop in the middle of the hallway to chat with their friends in between classes
- when people don't do their homework, pay attention in class, and study at all then complain about their poor marks
- when people seem to believe that a teacher should just give them the average they want
- people who blame the teacher and never take responsibility for anything
- when there are multiple assignments due at once :P
- when teachers give minimum lengths for an essay
- when people copy your assignments and receive a better mark than you
- when people trying to cram 5 minutes before the test and start yelling out facts. This really doesn't help before a test and sometimes confuses me
- when people compare their answers right after they write a test
- studying a lot and not achieving the mark you were aiming for

When teachers take a month+ to mark tests and papers. We're in grade 12 I'd like to know my marks before the report card please.

And grade 9's in general.

People who judge others based on their limited observations. You don't know the person's living conditions or what they've been through in life. Stop judging, be a little more open minded, who cares if they're weird or act different?

There's more I can list about annoying people I knew in high school, but I'm really lazy to name 'em..

On an unrelated note, I really really hate the session expiry on this forum. Typed a 5 paragraph PM for about 30 min and forgot about the auto logout -.- Fml
