The admission average this year is an 89%. You are SO CLOSE, on the borderline! You have a good chance for acceptance, but you need to work really hard, bump up one of your class marks. You may get in in later May. Work hard, it will pay off!

Only took six courses? According to einfo, you only really need to include your two maths, biology, and english in your top six. So if you have any other courses which are higher than your physics/chemistry marks (your lowest ones at that), then you're pretty much set. Otherwise, they will may ease the cutoff a bit later.

Hey, I got in today with an 88.8% too! Looks like whoever said the cut off was 89% was misguided...

Hasith, how super stressed were you (about the cut off and that you were only a percent away?) Haha, maybe it was just me. Oh well, congratulations!cheers

I'm so happy you all got in! CONGRATS!

And jsonga, when I talked to the admission counselor in early april, that is what she told me. I guess since admission are in the final round, they lowered it a bit. And it's only lowered by .5% so far, so I wasn't far off or anything.
But I know it must have been stressful to you guys, so congrats! Good luck!

likely at the time she asked it was 89 and decided to bring it down for the final cut off....because when I called not Mac but Western they did not give me a cut-off average but did say the cut off will change in the final round. I'm sitting at 92% since February (non semestered school) but Western and Guelph will not use the 92 unlike Ottawa till the final cut off in May.

BTW I just heard someone from my school got in with 87.5 !!!

So what exactly is the minimum cut off for McMaster Life Science? Would an 87.5 make it?
