Im in a web design course with a local community college. It's only a two year course, but I want to go to university afterwards. If I wanted to continue with design and development, would I gets a bachelors degree in computer science, or in media arts? Or do I get both?

A Bachelor of CS may be a huge step up from Web Design, since there will be a ton of math and theoretical stuff that you will be learning. I recommend Media Arts over CS, unless you feel that the BaCS would be beneficial to you. I enjoy both aspects; I can design and lose myself deep in PHP at the same time. Thanks for your suggestion; I guess college will help me decide. Makes sense to follow the stronger skill, and, perhaps, the most money. I just realized what my OP stated. The course is web design and development. I should've clarified that in the beginning.

If web design is the only thing you are pursuing and you don't care about anything else programming related, then I would suggest against Computer Science and maybe just stick with college. University doesn't really teach you much about web design, at least not at my school. I only have ~3 course related to web design here. UTSC - Computer Science Coop 2016

If you want to become web designer and think to get bachelor degree then you have to join computer science course in any reputed IT college and university. I think computer science is best course for making career as software engineer.
