After seeing everyone on here with exec positions of all kinds, I thought my school was the only one.

Should send an e-mail to all of the schools suggesting it. If I get motivated to write one, I may send it to some of them. If anyone wants to write one I will send it everywhere, or if someone wants to suggest a university to e-mail to if I get one done, PM me. And yeah, great job Ivey on being first to do so. Unfortunately I have no questions because I didn't apply.

It says on the website that Ivey needs our mid-term marks to determine our admission. Slightly concerned because 60% of your applications have been sent out; is it possible that some of these candidates were given admission without midterm marks being reported?
To give more information about my situation, I attend a catholic private school and we are about one week behind other school boards. My midterm marks will not be released to OUAC until the 2nd week of May.
Basically, it takes longer for the provincial report cards to be generated because they must be submitted manually, even though our midterm marks are available to me, they will not be printed and sent home till much later then the date the marks are made known. (hopefully this (somewhat) makes sense).
Is it possible that I can get mark reports signed by my teachers and fax them to the admissions office? or when my midterm marks are available, can I fax my transcript with my midterm marks on it to the admissions office?
Don't know if my situation is different than anyone else', I might not be the only one, but thought I'd ask.
Thanks!

Hi, I'm in grade 11 and was looking into Ivey and it said one of the requirements was a "grade 12 U level math course". Just wondering if that meant any of the U math courses available or if it was a specific math(s) required. Thanks! The University of Western Ontario Class of 2016

Also, all clubs are run and regulated by teachers, so there are no positions for students, such as exc., president, etc. Acceptances are posted on Inside Track, on the right sidebar. You should also receive an email and an offer package through snail mail. EC's are 50% of your application. 50% academics. We're looking for people who aren't just academically bright, but people who have passions outside of the classroom. It doesn't need to be student council or clubs, it can be anything from theatre, dance, arts, sports teams, community involvement, entrepreneurial ventures, international travel, volunteering. There are tons of ways to get involved. In particular what the admissions committee looks for are 3 main elements: 1) Commitment - don't just join something last minute or the year you're applying, demonstrate that this is a passion that you've developed over a period of time (quality over quantity) 2) Excellence - being a good leader is recognizing your own ability to perform tasks with great skill. A star athlete who competes on a national team is going to dedicate a lot of more time and training to their passion than people who play recreationally. This also translates into a series of different activities; if you find out you're good at organizing events, pursue it and you'll likely find yourself falling into several different roles eventually managing much larger events over time. 3) Leadership - show us what makes you a great leader, have you accomplish a great deal in your roles you've held or have you just collected a title, we want to see that you dig deep into producing results and that you take initiative. Queen's placed 5 Goldman Sachs NY IBD for this summer for students in class of 2012 (~250 class size). Did Ivey beat Queen's GS NY IBD placement in either relative or absolute terms? Bachelor of Commerce in Finance & Economics 2014

Thanks! applekid, I know you must be quite concerned. Do keep in mind that the admissions committee does recognize the different types of school systems out there. But if you wanted to send me an email at rwong@ivey.ca with this concern (including your name and high school) I can look into it and chat with the admissions director for you. Let me know! Thanks! Any of the 3 U level math courses will suffice. No minimum marks is need. However, do realize that when you apply for Ivey AEO status, you are also applying to another program at Western (for your first two years). These prerequisites are different than what we require. I would prefer not to get into school vs. school debates, as it's really a personal choice each of you need to make as to which program suits you the best, whether it's based on program structure, access to various industries, alumni network, classmate diversity, school environment, learning method, professors, extracurricular environment, school spirit, or any other factors you might think of. As to number of placements in a Goldman Sachs Investment Banking Division (for those who don't understand the acronyms), we don't disclose those numbers for privacy reasons. The main thing to realize is that if there are placements at those respective firms, they have recruiters who come onto campus to recruit there. Aside from that, it's all about how well each school prepares you for the interview phase and how much you, personally, put into the interview preparation. For our statistics, please feel free to check out our reports here: Summer http://www.ivey.uwo.ca/r...r_Employment_Report.pdf

On WSO, I believe Ivey placed 7 into US BB IBD. And I'm not sure on the Queen's GS stats, it seems quite a bit inflated. If it was just GS, then sure, Queen's sends a lot of back office/Ops people to NY. The University of Western Ontario BMOS + AEO1

If it was just GS, then sure, Queen's sends a lot of back office/Ops people to NY. and I know for a fact that 3 went to west coast (SF/LA) BB. So 4 at Ivey went to NY.... That's less than the amount that QC places into GS NY IBD. Not BO, OPS, ETC,.... just IBD. Bachelor of Commerce in Finance & Economics 2014
