I saw the post for 2011 so I thought I'd start the one for 2012. 1. Which school(s) are you applying to? 2. What other programs are you applying to as your back up? 3. What GPA are you aiming for for your final year? EXTRA - I want current Nursing students to be included as well! Tell us where you go, where you applied to and what your GPA in Grade 12 was. Also, a few pointers, tips and guidance is always great. Reveal yourselves! I'm going to be applying for the Western-Fanshawe Collaborative BScN Program. Health Sciences is most likely going to be my third choice, and at UWO as well (parents won't let me leave London, rez payment is too expensive for us). I'm aiming for a 95. I know I'm a little early.. but hey, August is here next week and the back to school commercials are going to be playing. I'm very excited to be going back as this is my final year of high school. :)

wooohoo! so excited when I saw this post! finally! 1. I'm thinking about applying to ryerson, its kinda my DREAM school! 2. As a back up....hmmm... maybe ryerson-gb, or ryerson centennial, depends! 3. gpa, I don't know, i'm aiming for a 85-90% If I really work at it. I have manageable courses for first semester: english, exercise science, religion and families in a diverse society. Second semester is gonna kill me though, math, bio, chem in the same semester. ugh **Shields** Accepted: University of Toronto: Social Sciences + Vic One (Pearson Stream) Carleton University: Honours Science University of British Columbia: Arts

Schools Applying to: Western, McMaster, UOttawa, Trent
Average I want to achieve: 87%-89%
I'm doing a "victory lap" to upgrade marks :) so I'll be nineteen first year.. woooo! I really want to get into Western. I have been set on this school for the past year, so I'm trying really hard to get there. I think my top choices will be between Western and Mac.
Can't wait to start the applying process this time!

I'm very excited to be going back as this is my final year of high school. :) I'm currently a UWO student at fanshawe. When I applied in high school my average was 87. I'm not sure what my first year average was, but I got on the deans list so at least 80. Honestly, my biggest pointer for anyone going into nursing, is to take exercise science in high school. It saved my ass in anatomy, nutrition and physiology. If you're considering the western program, you should also consider the fact that starting fall 2012, the program has a new layout. It will be more like the conestoga mac program, being that you do all 4 years at fanshawe, instead of 2 and 2. At the same point in time, keep in mind that essentially you will be doing all the same things. The main exception (for now at least) is that in first year you get twice as much clinical placement at the fanshawe site because they don't spend half of second semester in sim lab like you do at western. If you, or anyone else, has questions about the program (or just nursing) feel free to message me! UWO Nursing 2014

Didn't get into Queen's but got into Western and ryerson. I don't remember my average exactly...i think it was 88% without math and 85 with math. Good luck <3

Good luck <3 On a side note, when I was in first year (I'm assuming thereishope is first year?) I really liked it because we got clinical first year, which not all schools do. It's not as important to some people as it is for others. That said, if clinical first year is a make or break deal for you, you need to double check how the new program is going to work. I heard that they're taking first year clinical away to follow the pattern of many other schools. While you don't do a lot of "nurse" stuff during your first year placement, it was really nice because it was slow paced and you got to get comfortable with working with people, bathing, that kinda stuff without having to worry about what's going to happen next or is their condition going to change? Is there going to be an emergency, etc. UWO Nursing 2014

1. Ryerson (both George Brown and Centennial)!!!!! and York...(unfortunately,I can only select one college... and I choose Seneca, since it's closer to home). Though, I'm also interested in the Michener's programs and the UofT 3rd and 4th year nursing.
2. I'm honestly not sure... I'm in big trouble. Anywhere in the Health Sciences (Therapy???)Maybe also Administration in Health or Urban Planning. I don't know; somewhere along services.
3. I'm aiming for an 85, atleast!LOL First Semester: Math Philosophy Health Care I had a 76 in grade 12 English (took it over the summer). Second Semester:(I love science.) Biology Chemistry Physical Science
I went to the OUF today and it was a great experience. I had fun and learned quite a lot of details. Honestly, I'm so hyped.

1.McMaster, Ryerson maybe Western 2. York Biomed, UofT life science, Waterloo health science, Ottawa science 3. Hopefully 87+ because I REALLY want to get into Mcmaster
If anyone is in the above mentioned nursing programs or the waterloo program please pm me or post on this thread :)

It's so wonderful to see all you hopeful nursing students! Judging by your guys' responses, I'm sure you will get into the schools you desire and become successful. :) As for me, I'm actually ditching the nursing scene - the whole science part in general actually and I'm applying for Social Sciences because that's where my hearts at along with my interest. Keep posting though and help each other this year because we're all in this together! Thanks for all of your responses. Good luck :)
