How to Nail a Scholarship or Grant

By Studentawards

In a video interview, Studentawards President Suzanne Tyson talks scholarships with Globe and Mail Personal Finance Columnist Rob Carrick, and points out that

  • about 50% of the studentawards.com scholarship database is comprised of awards that are not merit-based
  • many scholarship administrators are looking for more than just grades – they are interested in well-rounded individuals
  • there is no scholarship season, and new awards are created all the time
  • post-secondary students should visit their school’s financial aid office and investigate scholarships that don’t have applications – administrators want to give these scholarships away, so students should apply even if they think they are a long shot
